The ‘Dissectum’ varieties of Japanese Maple have beautiful deeply-cut leaves and grow into a mound of up to 1.2m (4ft) tall rather than a tall tree. These are also good in garden borders or in pots, as specimens in the lawn or next to ponds.
At Greenshutters Garden Centre, we sell different varieties of Japanese Maple with a range of colour leaves from different shades of green to yellow, pink, red, purple and orange. Some varieties such as Acer palmatum ‘Katsura’ and ‘Shindeshojo’ have beautiful golden or bright red leaves in the spring. Many such as ‘Osakazuki’, ‘Inabe Shidare’ have bright red, orange or yellow leaves in the autumn. There are also varieties such as the Coral Bark Maple (Acer palmatum ‘Sangokaku’) that have bright red bark in the winter months.
The number and different sizes we stock depends on the time of year, we generally have more available in the spring and autumn.
