Roses are a classic plant for the English summer garden.  There are thousands of varieties in circulation and more being bred every year, so we choose varieties that we think are the best performers.  We have the largest selection available from March to August.  The varieties we offer change throughout the year so we do not supply an availability list.  Just pop in and see.

David Austin Roses

David Austin roses are renowned throughout the world.  There are many old and new varieties available from the old-fashioned English roses with typically multi-petalled flowers to the new Hybrid Tea roses.

We choose some of the best varieties in terms of scent, health and the beauty of the flowers and stock them at Greenshutters Garden Centre.

David Austin Roses are excellent in mixed borders with other shrubs or herbaceous perennials.

Hybrid Tea, Floribunda & Patio Roses

We stock Hybrid Tea, Floribunda (clustered flowers) and patio roses.  We use the Rose Gold Standard to help us choose many of the varieties we stock.

Roses that are awarded the Gold Standard have to be good performers in gardens.  Only a few varieties make the Gold Standard each year as they have to be scented, repeat-flowering and that stay healthy and grow vigorously throughout the summer.

Climbing & Rambling Roses

Climbing and rambling roses will clothe a wall, shed, or fence.  The Ramblers will also grow over a pergola or up a tree.

Roses and Clematis look stunning when planted together.  Many of the varieties we stock are repeat-flowering, scented and disease resistant.
