Greenshutters Garden Centre Newsletter May 2026
It’s been a lovely spring so far with lots of sunshine. April was the driest month we’ve ever recorded, with just 11mm of rainfall. We had a welcome burst of rain at the start of May, but dry conditions have returned, so keep watering newly planted plants and those in pots and containers.
The garden centre is bursting at the seams right now. If you’re looking to fill your beds and borders, we have a fantastic selection of summer bedding plants — Busy Lizzies, Petunias, Lobelia, Marigolds and Cosmos among them. For hanging baskets and containers, we have Surfinias, Trailing Geraniums, Begonia, Bacopa, Bidens, Fuchsia plus other basket plants – see our special offer below.
If you are growing your own fruit and vegetables this year, we have Tomato, Pepper, Cucumber and Courgette plants in stock, along with a good range of other vegetables in packs.
In the herbaceous area, there are a lot of new exciting plants. Our Salvia range includes Hot Lips, Amethyst Lips, Black and Lavender Pink, Love and Wishes and Royal Bumble. We also have good stocks of Lavender and Hebe, plus Bay Lollipop trees — and new to us this season, some striking Tree Ferns that are well worth a look.
